As early as the 18th century, whalers from New England has made their way around to the Seward peninsula are surroudning islands, bringing with them a love for cribbage and the scrimshaw technique.   Kingeekuk pays homage to this history and to the importance of walrus as a subsustence food in this beautifully decorated board.
