Using the natural shape of a whale scapula accented with carved ivory inlay, Barr creates an interpretive piece inspired by traditional celebrations and ceremonies. The drummer is in the center, marked by his drum and walrus ivory face. He is flanked by two dancers carved in relief with mammoth ivory faces.
