Hunter with Harpoon DollView more work by Magie Rookok
Some of the most beautiful dolls come from Savoonga on St. Lawrence Island, such as this one by Rookok. The mukluks, pants, Pouch and Parka are all sealskin. The mukluk straps and knife sheath are bleached sealskin, holding an ivory knife. The ruff and trim on the calf of the mukluks are beaver fur. The harpoon is baleen with walrus ivory ends and the face and hands are carved out of walrus ivory.
