Shaman Hunters

With this unique totem, Saclaman pays homage to the spirit connections cultivated by shamans and depended upon by entire villages.  Each face is a transformation from human to animal traits.  Starting from the top are polar bear, walrus and seal spirits, all animals essential to survival.  Their combination with human faces shows a connectivity among all things and the importance of that relationship.  The harpoon, knife and ulu represent the tools of the hunt and food preparation.
