Spouting Bowhead Whale View more work by Harrison Miklahook Jr.
Bowhead whales are part of the baleen whale family and second only in size to the blue whale. Instead of teeth, they use baleen strips to filter food. The body of the whale is whale bone, the fins and spouting water are formed with pieces of baleen. Simply capturing the unique features of this whale, Miklahook brings the materials full circle as they represent the very animal from which they came.
